*The Specifics
This warm and welcoming family is looking for a dedicated and flexible nanny to join their family. They describe themselves as diverse, friendly, and social, with a strong emphasis on family and education. With demanding careers in the healthcare industry, they need a reliable and proactive nanny who can provide a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for their child.
The ideal candidate will be organized, communicative, and passionate about early childhood development, ensuring their little one is well cared for, stimulated, and growing through interactive play and learning experiences. The family also hopes to expand in the future, and when they do, the nanny will receive a pay increase. Because of this, it is important that the nanny is experienced and confident caring for both newborns and toddlers.
The family values integrity above all else. They are looking for someone who is honest, responsible, and genuinely invested in their child’s well-being—someone who will engage in meaningful activities like reading, playing, and providing attentive care rather than relying on screens for entertainment. Newborn experience is a must, and an interest in education and outings is highly desirable. While not required, the ability to speak a second language, particularly Korean or Spanish, would be a great bonus.
Flexibility is key in this role. The nanny will work approximately 80 hours over a two-week period, with overtime compensated accordingly if those hours are exceeded. Most working hours will fall between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm, with some variability depending on Mom’s schedule. If Mom has a later start, the nanny’s start time will adjust accordingly. Mom receives her schedule one month in advance, and the nanny will be provided at least two weeks’ notice of their schedule. Dad’s schedule is more consistent, typically finishing work around 6:00 pm. Date night help would be appreciate however, not mandatory.
The nanny will almost always have one weekday off when Mom is off.
In addition to childcare, the nanny will assist with child-related household tasks, including children’s laundry, preparing meals for the child, and tidying up the kitchen and areas used throughout the day. The family also has a dog, Walter, who is older and has heart failure. While a dog walker manages his walks, the nanny may occasionally be asked to let him outside or offer him food if needed.
Both parents have high-demand jobs that do not allow for last-minute schedule changes, so reliability and punctuality are essential. After long workdays, they enjoy unwinding at home, going for walks, working out, or watching TV. They love dining out and attending every Columbus Crew home game during the MLS season. On weekends, they focus on catching up with household tasks and personal projects.
The ideal nanny will be someone who seamlessly integrates into their household, providing both structure and warmth. They are looking for a long-term partnership with someone who genuinely cares about their child’s growth and development. If you are an experienced, dependable, and loving nanny who takes initiative and enjoys working with a dynamic and social family, this could be a perfect fit!
