*The Specifics
This warm, creative, and close-knit family in Upper Arlington is searching for a long-term nanny to care for their sweet 3-year-old son as they prepare for an exciting new chapter and hope to grow their family in the coming year.
After saying goodbye to their beloved nanny upon her retirement, they are hoping to find another wonderful caregiver who will become a consistent and trusted presence in their life.
B (3 years) is truly a joy to be around. He is imaginative, gentle, funny, incredibly affectionate, and has an old soul personality that makes him easy to love. He loves pretend play, building forts, exploring outdoors, reading books, inventing games, helping with chores, and proudly “cleaning” around the house. He thrives with caregivers who are playful, engaged, and willing to jump into his imaginary world while also offering calm guidance and consistent routines.
The family is looking for someone who is interactive rather than simply supervisory. They hope to find a nanny who enjoys planning fun activities, encouraging creativity, spending plenty of time outside, and giving B their full attention throughout the day. Reliability, punctuality, honesty, and excellent communication are extremely important, as both parents own their own businesses and depend on knowing their son is in loving and capable hands.
Their parenting style is warm, intentional, and rooted in respect. They believe children thrive with loving boundaries, consistency, patience, and helping them understand the “why” behind expectations. They are looking for someone who shares that philosophy and enjoys working alongside parents as a collaborative team.
B (3 years) has severe allergies to gluten, soy, peanuts, and shellfish, so the ideal nanny will understand the importance of following food safety protocols carefully and consistently. Experience managing food allergies or a willingness to learn is essential, as his safety will always be the top priority.
The family is very tidy and would appreciate help leaving the home tidy at the end of the day through light household support such as children’s laundry, tidying toys and play spaces. B (3 years) genuinely enjoys helping with these tasks, making cleanup something you can often do together.
The family also has two friendly American Bulldogs who remain comfortably in their own area during the workday, so there are no pet care responsibilities beyond occasionally saying hello. They describe themselves as fun-loving, hardworking, family-oriented, and not overly serious. They appreciate a nanny who is flexible, positive, creative, and willing to laugh, be silly, and enjoy the everyday moments with their son.
If you’re looking for a family who will value your experience, respect your professionalism, and welcome you as an important part of their lives, this is a wonderful opportunity to build a meaningful relationship with an incredible little boy and a family who truly appreciates exceptional childcare.
