*The Specifics
This energetic and loving family in New Albany are searching for a warm, dependable, and proactive nanny/family assistant to help support their four children, ages 3.5, 6, almost 10, and nearly 12. With three school-aged children attending school during the day and the youngest involved in local programming and summer activities, the family is looking for someone who can step in during the busy afternoon and evening hours to help keep the household running smoothly. Their home is active, fun, and fast-paced, and they would love to find someone who enjoys being part of a collaborative family environment.
The role will primarily focus on after-school support, totaling approximately 30 hours per week. Additional hours may occasionally be available when the father is traveling, and optional Saturday evening date night coverage would be appreciated but is not required. Responsibilities will include school pick-ups, driving the children to activities, helping manage homework routines, preparing snacks, and engaging the children in meaningful, active play. Each child has unique needs and personalities, so the ideal nanny will be adaptable and intuitive, able to shift gears easily depending on what support is needed most on any given day.
This family highly values someone who takes initiative and naturally notices ways they can help. During quieter moments, the nanny may assist with light household tasks such as tidying the kitchen, helping with laundry, organizing common areas, or running occasional errands like grocery shopping. They previously had a nanny for five years and deeply appreciated having someone who understood how to balance childcare with being a thoughtful and supportive presence within the home.
The ideal candidate is kind, patient, and nurturing, while also being comfortable setting boundaries and guiding behavior with consistency and confidence. The family believes strongly in teaching accountability, communication, and character development, and they appreciate a nanny who can help children work through challenges calmly and respectfully.
Their family culture centers around connection, adventure, humor, and spending quality time together. They enjoy encouraging creativity, staying active, and limiting screen time in a balanced and intentional way. A nanny who is energetic, engaging, and excited to build genuine relationships with the children will thrive in this role. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is flexible, reliable, collaborative, and excited to become a trusted and valued extension of an active, loving household.
