*The Specifics
A warm, welcoming, and well-organized family in Upper Arlington is seeking a professional, dependable nanny/family assistant to support their household and care for their three school-aged children. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with older children, appreciates structure with a lively home environment, and takes pride in being a reliable part of a busy family’s daily life.
The family is close-knit, humorous, and actively involved in their children’s school, sports, and extracurricular activities. They are looking for someone who can step into a supportive, team-oriented role—helping keep the household running smoothly while also providing engaging, thoughtful care for the children.
During the school year, typical hours will be approximately 1:00/2:00pm to 8:30pm, with summer hours shifting to more morning and early afternoon coverage. Flexibility is appreciated as schedules may occasionally vary due to activities and family commitments.
A key responsibility of this role is supporting the children’s daily routines, including school pick-ups, transportation to activities, managing schedules, and assisting with homework and school responsibilities. The ideal candidate is a confident, responsible driver with strong time management skills and a commitment to safety and reliability.
This position also includes a family assistant component. Duties include meal preparation, packing lunches for the next day, children’s laundry, light housekeeping, grocery shopping, running errands, and helping maintain an organized and tidy home environment. The family values someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, and naturally steps in to help wherever needed without constant direction.
The children are fun, conversational, and enjoy humor and lighthearted interaction. The family is seeking a nanny who can connect easily with different age groups, bring a positive presence into the home, and create a supportive, engaging environment. A candidate who is patient, communicative, and enjoys building relationships will thrive in this role.
Equally important is the ability to provide calm, consistent support. The children can experience big emotions at times, including anxiety, and benefit from a caregiver who can offer reassurance, structure, and gentle guidance while encouraging independence and confidence.
The ideal nanny is confident yet warm, able to balance nurturing care with appropriate structure and follow-through. The family appreciates someone who can encourage responsibility, support routines, and help the children stay organized while maintaining a respectful and positive dynamic.
There are two friendly dogs in the home, so comfort with pets is essential. Light pet-related support such as letting the dogs out may be part of the daily routine.
The mother describes herself as easygoing and is looking for someone who can truly make day-to-day life smoother and more organized. At times, the nanny will work collaboratively with her in a team-based approach, while other times managing responsibilities independently.
This is a wonderful opportunity for a professional nanny/family assistant who is organized, dependable, and enjoys being an important part of a family’s daily rhythm. The ideal candidate will bring initiative, warmth, strong communication skills, and a genuine passion for supporting children and families in a meaningful way.
