*The Specifics

This warm and easygoing family is seeking a nurturing, patient, and engaging nanny to care for their baby. The mother works from home and values having a supportive, communicative caregiver who can partner with her throughout the day. The father is active military and stationed out of state, and the mother is also active military and travels out of town once per month, so having a dependable and consistent nanny is especially important to help create stability in the home.

The ideal candidate is gentle, patient, and understanding, particularly as their baby may take a little time to warm up to new people. A nanny who can remain calm, offer reassurance, and build trust through consistency and care will thrive in this role. The family practices a parenting style that focuses on boundaries and choices rather than strict rules, so they are looking for someone who can be firm yet kind, guiding behavior with patience and respect.

Daily responsibilities will primarily center around attentive childcare, including engaging the baby in age-appropriate play, spending time outdoors, and supporting development through interaction and exploration. The family would love someone who enjoys being outside, as their baby especially loves fresh air and outdoor time. Additional responsibilities include baby-related tasks such as laundry a few times per week, emptying the diaper pail, loading and unloading the dishwasher, and light cleaning such as vacuuming floors once or twice a week.

The family is also looking for occasional weekend support, approximately once per month, with hours typically starting around 8:00 or 9:00 am and ending in the early evening. There is no overnight care required, and extended family may occasionally be present to help during these times. The home includes two cats, so the nanny should be comfortable around pets.

Overall, they are hoping to find someone who is warm, talkative, and easy to be around—someone who enjoys conversation and brings a relaxed, positive energy into the home. A nanny who is overly rigid or strictly by-the-book would not be the best fit; instead, they value flexibility, intuition, and a natural caregiving style. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who is dependable, nurturing, and excited to build a meaningful connection with both the child and parents.
