*The Specifics

This busy, active, and close-knit family in Upper Arlington is seeking a high-energy and proactive nanny/family assistant to support their household and care for their three children, ages almost 12, 10, and 7. With a busy schedule and a parent returning to work while also launching a business, they are looking for a true teammate—someone who can help keep the home running smoothly while providing attentive and engaging care for the children.

During the school year, typical hours will fall between approximately 1:00/2:00pm until 8:30 pm, with flexibility for additional hours as needed. Summer hours will shift to more morning and early afternoon coverage.

The children are active in sports and activities, so a large part of the role includes driving them to and from practices, helping manage their schedules, and ensuring they stay on track with homework and responsibilities. The ideal candidate is a safe and confident driver with a clean record and strong sense of responsibility. Reliability is non-negotiable, as both parents have demanding schedules and depend on consistent support.

This role is a blend of childcare and family assistant duties. Responsibilities include meal prep (including prepping dinners and lunches for the next day), children’s laundry, light housekeeping, running errands, grocery shopping, and maintaining an organized home environment.

The family values someone who takes initiative—if the laundry is piling up, counters need wiping, or the house needs a quick reset, they appreciate a nanny who jumps in without being asked.

The ideal candidate is energetic, motivated, and easygoing, with a natural ability to engage children of different ages. The children are fun, conversational, and enjoy humor and sarcasm, so someone playful, witty, and interactive will fit right in. At the same time, patience and emotional awareness are incredibly important. The children experience big emotions, including anxiety, and benefit from a calm, supportive caregiver who can provide structure, reassurance, and gentle guidance.

This family values a nanny who is confident yet warm. Someone who can encourage responsibility, help the children stay organized, and support them in completing tasks like cleaning their rooms or finishing homework. They are looking for someone who is not overly passive, but instead engaged, communicative, and willing to take ownership of their role.

There are two friendly dogs in the home, so the nanny should be comfortable with pets and willing to assist with simple care such as letting them outside. An animal lover will feel right at home in this environment.

Mom describes herself as easygoing looking for someone who can truly make her life easier and support the family’s daily flow. At times, the nanny will work alongside her in a collaborative “divide and conquer” approach, while other times they will manage things independently.

Overall, this is a wonderful opportunity for a professional nanny who is organized, proactive, and genuinely passionate about helping families. The ideal candidate will bring a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a sense of humor, becoming a valued and trusted part of a lively, loving household.
