*The Specifics

This busy, kind, and down-to-earth dual physician family is seeking a dedicated and flexible nanny to care for their two young children, ages 3 years and 5 months. As they relocate from Chicago for work, they are looking for a long-term nanny who can grow with their family and provide consistent, attentive care. Both parents have demanding and often unpredictable schedules, so reliability and flexibility are essential in this role.

The position will typically begin around 6:00 am, with end times varying between approximately 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm. The nanny can expect to work between 45–55 hours per week, with occasional weekend support, such as one Saturday per month for up to four hours. The family provides schedules in advance- often 2–3 months ahead—allowing for planning, but they do need someone who is adaptable to slight changes within those general hours.

The primary focus of this role is childcare. Responsibilities include caring for both children, supporting their daily routines, and creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment. The nanny will be responsible for child-related tasks such as preparing simple meals, managing children’s laundry, and occasional light dishwashing related to the children. The family prioritizes childcare above all else and handles most other household responsibilities themselves.

The ideal nanny is energetic, interactive, and genuinely enjoys engaging with young children. G (3 years) is very active, so they are looking for someone who will run, play, and fully participate in activities like trips to the park, classes, and daily outings. The family strongly values getting the children out of the house each day and would love a nanny who plans enriching activities such as art projects, creative play, and social experiences.

The family embraces a parenting style that encourages creativity, independence, and respectful behavior. They value open discussion, reflection, and teaching through connection rather than punishment, and they maintain a no-screen-time environment. They also enjoy spending time outdoors together, including gardening and active play.

Strong, direct communication is very important to them. They appreciate a nanny who is honest, open, and comfortable sharing thoughts or concerns, as they believe a collaborative relationship leads to the best outcomes for their children. Spanish language skills would be a wonderful bonus but are not required.

They describe themselves as laid-back, busy, informal, and kind, and they are looking for someone who will seamlessly integrate into their family dynamic. This is a wonderful opportunity for a proactive, engaging nanny who is excited to take initiative, support a structured yet flexible routine, and become a valued, long-term part of a loving family.
