*The Specifics

This busy and active family of six is seeking a proactive, warm, and engaging part-time nanny/family assistant to support their four children, ages 3.5, 6, almost 10, and nearly 12. The three older children attend school during the day, while the youngest participates in a local program and will transition into a summer program as well. With multiple schedules, activities, and needs to balance, the family is looking for an extra set of hands—someone who can step in during the afternoon hours and help bring ease and organization to their day-to-day routine.

The typical schedule will center around after-school hours, beginning around 3:30 pm, totaling approximately 20 hours per week, with flexibility for additional hours when the father is traveling. Occasional weekend support, such as Saturday evening date nights, would be appreciated but is not required. The nanny’s primary responsibilities will include school pick-ups, transportation to activities, assisting with homework, preparing snacks, and engaging the children in play and meaningful interaction. Each child has different needs—whether it’s coordinating a playdate, helping one child focus on homework, or entertaining younger siblings—so the ability to read the room and adapt accordingly is essential.

The family is looking for someone who is intuitive and proactive, able to anticipate needs and jump in where support is most helpful. When childcare tasks are lighter, the nanny will assist with light household support such as tidying the kitchen, helping with laundry, or running occasional errands like grocery shopping. Their previous nanny was with them for five years, and they deeply value having someone who understands that while childcare comes first, being a helpful and thoughtful presence in the home makes a meaningful difference.

The ideal candidate is warm yet confidently authoritative—someone who can provide comfort and affection while also guiding behavior with patience and consistency. The family values character development and believes in teaching children through communication, understanding, and accountability. They are looking for someone who will not take children’s behavior personally but instead help them learn and grow through each experience.

This family enjoys staying active, encouraging adventure, and being engaged with one another. They value experiences, creativity, and limiting screen time in a thoughtful and balanced way. A nanny who brings positive energy, enjoys building connections with children, and is excited to be part of a collaborative, fast-paced household will thrive in this role. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who is flexible, dependable, and eager to become a trusted and valued part of a busy, loving family.
